Rock, Read & Eat! is a reading celebration that provides children with learning opportunities that reinforce and build on skills they are developing and knowledge they are acquiring in school. Specifically the dancing, singing, shared-reading and snack preparation authentically utilizes different learning strategiesThe needs addressed in Rock, Read & Eat! incorporate logical, mathematical, spatial, intra-personal linguistic, interpersonal, body-kinesthetic, and musical approaches to learning. The unique approach enables each child to relate to the experience and benefit appropriately.
The event is specifically designed to promote books, reading readiness skills, project-based learning, emphasize core curriculum standards, reinforce vocabulary, increase comprehension skills, boost self- esteem and promote diversity. Rock, Read & Eat! engages children to learn, explore and appreciate a good book It is a great venue to encourage children to read as a recreational activity.
Rock, Read & Eat! is an all-inclusive 60-min literacy activity. The interactive event takes place at your school and can be scheduled to fit your program needs. The sessions can be scheduled weekly, biweekly monthly or as a special event. Rock, Read and Eat! is a great reward for your school’s reading incentive program. Don’t give them a pizza party to reward reading, give them Rock, Read & Eat!
Rock, Read & Eat! After School
The playful yet educational sessions are a perfect fit for any after-school program. Rock, Read Eat! is dedicated to generating a love of reading in early childhood, exposing children to ideas and cultures through books and promoting literacy. Enrich your after-school curriculum with Rock, Read & Eat! The Reading Fairy will host the event at your site at your convenience.
